How does no-deposit car rental work?
There are two options. Basic insurance with a ฿5,000 excess is included in the price, and with it a refundable deposit is paid at pickup in cash or as a hold on your card; it is returned when you hand the car back. Full Insurance from 7 days covers the excess, and no deposit is needed at all.
The calculator shows the price of full insurance before you book, and no money is tied up for the whole rental. Cover and exclusions are set out in the contract you sign before handover. Will they keep my passport or add fees at pickup?
No. Your passport stays with you; a copy is enough for the contract. The condition of the car is photographed at handover. The calculator shows the total before you book; if you pay by card via the terminal, the only addition is a 7% bank fee.

What does no-deposit full insurance cover?
Full insurance removes the excess: for damage to the car itself in an insured event you pay nothing beyond the rental. With it you can drive without a deposit on rentals from 7 days. Exclusions are set out in the contract: alcohol, driving without an IDP, leaving the scene of an accident, glass, wheels and interior.
