Is a deposit required for a minivan?

No, if you take full insurance: it is sold on rentals of 7 days or more and removes both the deposit and the excess. Basic insurance with a ฿5,000 excess is included in the price; with it you leave a refundable deposit of ฿7,000–30,000 for this class: the Veloz and Xpander sit near the bottom, the Alphard near the top; the exact amount is on the car page. It is returned in full if the car comes back without new damage.
