Who handles servicing on a long-term rental?

Scheduled servicing by mileage and time is organised by the rental company: the manager agrees a convenient time with you in advance. Check before booking who pays for consumables and whether a replacement car is provided during the work; this is fixed in the contract. Fuel, paid parking and traffic fines during the rental are paid by the renter.
Is a deposit required for a long-term rental?

Not with Full Insurance: no deposit with full insurance from 7 days, and long-term rental starts at 90. With basic insurance (included in the price, ฿5,000 excess) a refundable deposit is paid and returned when you hand the car back. Your passport is never held as security.
What if my plans change and I leave early?

Message the manager a few days in advance. The price depends on the length of the rental, so on early return the discount tier of the actual period applies: a rental started as three months and ended after two weeks is charged at the two-week rate. How the recalculation and refund work is fixed in the contract; check it before signing.
Is an IDP enough for six months or a year?

Yes, as long as the IDP and your national licence are both valid until the end of the rental: an IDP is issued for three years, but no longer than the national licence. Check both dates before you fly, as you cannot renew your licence from Thailand. Thai licences are only available with a work visa or a long-term stay.
How is the price worked out if the rental covers New Year?

The calculator applies the season day by day. Peak-season days around New Year cost 85% more than the base rate, high-season days 60% more, the other days follow their own season, and the term discount applies to the whole period. So a winter stay from December to March costs more than the same rental in summer; the calculator shows the exact total for your dates.
