What data you leave when booking, why it is needed, who sees it and how to have it deleted. Briefly, and without legal fog.

1

What data we collect

When booking a car you provide your name, phone number, email address, date of birth and the place where the car should be delivered. The date of birth is needed to check the minimum rental age (21) and driving experience; the delivery address, to bring you the car. You may also leave a comment with your request and a second phone number.

If you submit a review, we store the name (or the signature you choose), the text of the review, the rating and the district you name. When you write in the chat on the site, the conversation is stored, along with a contact for our reply if you leave one.

The site does not collect copies of your passport or driving licence online. Documents are checked in person at handover and are not stored electronically on the site.

2

Why this data is needed

The main purpose is to process your request: contact you, confirm the dates and price, deliver the car to the agreed place and time and sign the rental agreement. Your phone and messenger are used to talk about the booking, and your email to confirm the request.

We keep the history of your requests and messages in a client record so that we do not ask for everything again next time you rent. We do not send advertising or newsletters, and we do not sell your contacts or pass them to third parties.

3

Where the data is stored and who sees it

Booking data is stored on the site server in a directory protected from direct access and is available only to MonkeyCar staff who handle bookings. The administrative part of the site is password-protected.

A notification of a new request reaches our managers on Telegram (the company's working channel), and the message contains the details needed to deliver the car. A review appears on the site as soon as it is submitted; we check the feed afterwards and take down anything unsuitable. Only the name (signature), rating, text and district appear on the site; phone numbers and email addresses are never published.

The site uses Yandex.Metrica to analyse traffic. It collects anonymised statistics: pages viewed, referral source, device type, as well as on-page session recordings (Webvisor) of cursor movement, clicks and scrolling to improve site usability. Booking form field contents are excluded from recordings, and personal data is not passed to Metrica.

4

How long the data is kept

Booking data, chat messages and the client record are kept with no time limit until you ask us to delete them. On such a request we delete the record, the bookings and the messages, except data needed to perform a current rental agreement.

Published reviews are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Site backups are made once a day and only the last seven archives are kept; older ones are deleted automatically. Data you ask us to delete therefore disappears from the backups within a week.

Passports and driving licences are checked in person when the car is handed over: their details go into the paper rental contract and are kept by the company as an accounting document. They are never sent to the website or its database and never appear in backups.

5

Your rights

You can ask what data of yours we hold, request that it be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent to processing. To do so, write to us on WhatsApp or Telegram (the contacts are below). We answer such requests within a reasonable time and do not ask you to explain why.

By submitting a form on the site you confirm that you have read this policy and consent to the processing of the data listed above in order to handle your request.

The company operates in Phuket, so data processing is governed by Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA, B.E. 2562/2019). It gives you the right to access, correct and delete your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to the Thai regulator (PDPC) if you believe we have breached your rights.

6

Cookies

The site uses technical cookies: they hold the session identifier, the chosen language and the form's protection against request forgery. Without them the booking form will not work. The Yandex.Metrica counter also sets cookies to collect anonymised statistics. These can be disabled in your browser settings without affecting how the site works.

You can disable Yandex Metrica and Webvisor using the button below. Your choice is saved in this browser. Analytics will not run after the page reloads.
