Car hire for a month is 22% cheaper than the daily rate, and for three months 29% cheaper, while a week gives only 8%. In a price-list estimate for a Honda City from 16.01.2027, a day costs ฿1 650 on a week, ฿1 160 on a month and ฿1 000 on three months. The site's calculator produced these figures; there is no real order behind them.

Why does a day get cheaper the longer you rent?
The long-rental discount is applied automatically by the number of days in the booking: from 7 days the rate is 8% lower, from 11 days 15%, from 16 days 22%, from 22 days 29%. A month falls into the tier from 16 days, three months into the tier from 22.
The seasonal surcharge is counted for each day. All three terms start on 16.01.2027, the car's base rate is ฿1 119, and on a month the average seasonal surcharge is +60%. If part of a longer term falls into a cheaper season, its average surcharge is lower and the day costs a little less again.

Insurance or a deposit for a month or longer?
With the basic policy you pay a refundable deposit, its amount is on the car's page, and damage that is your fault is capped at the ฿5,000 excess. Full insurance is available from 7 days and removes both the excess and the deposit, so no money sits frozen for the whole term.

How do I pay for a month, and what documents do I need?
There is no prepayment: the first payment is made when you collect the car, and rentals of a month or more are paid monthly. You pay in cash in baht, US dollars or euros at the exchange-office rate, or by card via the terminal with a 7% bank fee. The contract needs your passport and national driving licence; get an International Driving Permit (IDP) at home, as without it the insurer may refuse to pay after an accident.
