More about the car
A 2024 saloon with a 1.5 engine and automatic transmission, for anyone who wants more room than a compact without paying for a crossover. Settled on the highway, ordinary seating position, straightforward to drive.
Limitations: the ground clearance of a saloon is meant for tarmac; the dirt turn-offs to the far beaches are not worth the risk. The rear bench takes two comfortably, a third for a short trip. The boot is enclosed under a lid, so tall items will not stand up in it. Before handover, confirm your luggage fits and discuss your routes with the manager: some island roads are narrow with steep climbs.

What does the car rental include?
Fuel with no surprises
The car is handed over with a full tank and taken back the same way. If the tank is not full, the manager will tell you the refuelling cost and send a photo of the petrol station receipt, with no service fee.
Delivery within the area
The calculator shows the delivery and return price straight away; HKT airport is free. The car is brought to your hotel, villa or the airport at the time you choose.
24/7 support

Technical inspection
Before handover the car is inspected with you and its condition photographed. Every car in the fleet is automatic and air-conditioned.
Replacement car if it breaks down

How much does it cost to rent MG 5 in Phuket?

From ฿1,400 a day at the base rate. The longer the rental, the lower the daily price: long-rental discounts are applied automatically in the calculator on this page. Delivery and return at HKT airport are free, delivery to other districts costs ฿200–700. In high season (January 11 to March 31 and December 15 to December 24) and peak season (December 25 to January 10) the rate is higher. There is no prepayment: you pay at pickup in cash (baht, dollars, euros) or by card via the terminal with a 7% bank fee.
What is the deposit for MG 5?

It is paid at pickup in cash or by card (on a card the amount is held, not charged) and returned right after inspection if the car comes back without new damage and with a full tank. With Full Insurance, available on rentals of 7 days or more, there is no deposit. The deposit does not cover traffic fines, lost keys or damage from breaching the contract.
Can I rent MG 5 without a deposit?

Yes, with Full Insurance, which is available on rentals of 7 days or more: the ฿5,000 deposit is then not paid at all. It costs 35% of the rental, minimum ฿3,000, and removes the ฿5,000 excess too. On shorter rentals the deposit is paid at pickup and returned right after inspection.
What is the fuel consumption of MG 5?

It depends on driving style, load, air conditioning and route: MG 5 has a 1.5 L engine (petrol), and consumption rises on Phuket’s hills and in Patong traffic. Fuel works on a full-to-full basis: you get the car with a full tank and return it the same way, paying only for what you use. The fuel grade is stated in the contract; PTT, Shell and Bangchak stations are all over the island.
How many people fit in MG 5?

A child seat or booster costs ฿100 per day each, up to two per car; give the child’s age when booking.
